The One Coat That Matters This Season

December 18, 2025

This is the kind of coat that quietly takes over a wardrobe.

Every season throws up plenty of noise. Very few pieces rise above it. The VINILE x SEALUP Maranello Peacoat is one of them. Not because it shouts, but because it doesn’t need to.

This is the kind of coat that quietly takes over a wardrobe. The one you reach for without thinking. The one that makes everything else feel unnecessary.

Born from the meeting of two Made in Italy icons, the Maranello Peacoat distils almost a century of Milanese outerwear expertise through the contemporary lens of Vinile, the Maranello-born brand known for remastering icons rather than reinventing them for effect.

Sealup, founded in 1935, has always understood the power of restraint. Its peacoats have long sat at the intersection of naval heritage and urban elegance, garments built to endure weather, time and trend cycles. Vinile approaches design the same way a sound engineer approaches a classic recording: nothing is erased, everything is refined.

The result is a coat that feels inevitable.

Developed from Sealup’s Amalfi model and renamed Maranello for this collaboration, the silhouette stays true to the peacoat’s three-quarter length and tailored construction. What changes are the details, and here, they matter. The iconic Sealup navy is left untouched, but sharpened with six custom horn buttons, hand-finished and stitched tone-on-tone. On the left sleeve, an ice-white cotton label is hand-applied with four red bartacks, subtle but unmistakably Vinile.

Open the coat and the conversation deepens. An ice-coloured twill lining, red satin piping, a long internal label edged in red bearing both maisons’ names, a waxed cord picanello and a single button sewn with red thread. It’s measured, confident detailing, the kind noticed only by those who know where to look.

The fabric tells its own story: a water-repellent blend of 90 percent wool and 10 percent cashmere, padded with Thermore for warmth without weight. It wears like something far lighter than it is, and far more considered than most.

What makes the Maranello Peacoat compelling is not exclusivity alone, though only 20 pieces exist. It’s the clarity of intent. This is not a fashion moment. It’s a wardrobe decision.

Once a Royal Navy uniform, later the coat of choice for city streets, the peacoat has always been about authority without excess. Vinile understands that instinctively. The Maranello version doesn’t chase nostalgia, it remasters it, respectfully and with confidence.

Sea wolf, urban wolf, Vinile wolf. Labels don’t matter much here. What matters is that this is the one coat that will outlast the season, the conversation and probably everything else hanging next to it.

Just twenty exist. And honestly, that feels about right.

Sea wolf, urban wolf, Vinile wolf. Labels don’t matter much here.
